Having a house where everything has a home is important to me because it means I’m not spending time searching for something. I know what tasks I need to accomplish that day and while I get overwhelmed by the dishes, laundry, kids’ toys, and constantly growing to-do list, I have a plan for keeping everything under control. I have 2 young kids, so I know how hard it is to manage a household and how busy everyone is.

I’m not saying my house is Martha Stewart perfect. As I write this, there are toys spread throughout the living room, 2 loads of laundry that need to get folded and put away, and the dishwasher is likely full of clean dishes, with another load waiting to be dealt with. And there are definitely post-it notes on the kitchen counter full of reminders. I like my post-it notes.

Professional Organizers are human. But, there are systems in place to get the house picked up in a timely manner, and everything has a home so things are easily dealt with. I also know where things are so it’s easy to find what I need, when I need it.

I have a background in mental health counseling and corporate training. I think this is a great combination of skills to bring to my business. The adult learning skills help me transfer learning to my clients so they can continue the organizing process without me. And because we are attached to our stuff and going through things is emotional, the mental health background is also helpful.
